ICML 2027 strengthens its commitment to indigenous languages

Following the example set by the ICML 2025 in Bogotá, the organisers of the International Conference on Minority Languages (ICML 2027) are pleased to announce that UNESCO has authorised the use of the official logo of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (IDIL) in the context of the conference.
Launched by the United Nations and coordinated by UNESCO, the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (2022–2032) aims to raise global awareness of the critical loss of indigenous languages and to promote their preservation, revitalisation and transmission to future generations.
By using the IDIL logo, ICML 2027 aligns itself with this global initiative and underlines the conference’s ongoing commitment to promoting the visibility and understanding of indigenous languages. The 2027 edition in South Tyrol (Italy) will once again highlight their importance, both thematically and visually.
